Start the day with a healthy chocolate powerhouse

I don’t know if you listen to your body much. I’m always listening to my body, it is vital you do it first in the morning. Likewise, I don’t know about you, but I often start my day with this powerhouse smoothie.

I crave different foods and drinks depending on my mood, day time, fatigue and/or when I feel mentally exhausted.

I need to stay alert, feel alive, otherwise I can’t be productive and for me having a positive and healthy mindset is ultra important. Other smoothie I like to make is blueberry, cherry maca powder helps improve my daily productivity and stay alert almost all day.

Don’t have time for a super energetic smoothie? That is Nonsense.

You said I struggle to get up, etc. I know the drill. Don’t let “I don’t have much time” thoughts fool you. Who is in charge? Don’t let your ego stop you getting healthy. Instead, start the day by saying affirmation phrases like:

“I enjoy taking time to create or make important things for myself. And my health is super important. My family and I, come first, always. After that, everything else gets easier when I take care of me first.

Yeah, be a bit selfish.
It happens to feel a bit stressed or irritated, specially if you have to respect deadlines. When that happens, I say to myself – “deep breathing, and stay calm” and make the powerhouse smoothie.

I work from home, so I can easily make a few steps into the kitchen and make some cozy healthy drinks or smoothies that help me turn things around.

For example, in the morning I got up, drank a glass of water and when I am not walking the dog I exercise – I then drink a coffee with homemade banana and pecan cake. Then, 2 hours later, start my Gigong for 40 minutes (Ba Duan Jin includes deep breathing ) to reinvigorate me.

Followed by my smoothie. It only takes me 3-4 minutes to make it.

blueberries

So I got my creative juices flowing and decided to come up with a quick treat that will satisfy my morning craving, bringing some benefits along.

I found cacao powder, protein powder, hemp seeds, blueberries, banana, spinach or kale (I prefer) and almond butter, and ice cubes…and Ta Da, my chocolate powerhouse smoothie!

Which chocolate is healthy for you and why?

Dark chocolate is the best. It was used by the Mayas to help them start the day. Experts guessed that it is loaded with quality nutrients that will protect us and can improve our health. Studies shown that dark chocolate (not the mixed) is one of the reasons that people have less risk of heart disease.

Note: Raw cacao powder is also a great option, but it does tend to be more bitter than cocoa powder, which requires more sugar to offset the bitterness it delivers.

Cacao is one of the best sources of antioxidants on the planet until this day.

Check the recipe below, you can either print it or keep it on your screen – it real is a power house smoothie and feels like a delicious mid-morning treat.

Bottom line,

Historic note: Some Archaeologists and historian people believe that the Mayas were the first to drink chocolate before 500 BC. Since then, we have evaluated its benefits and this hot beverage not only makes you feel wonderfully well, whilst, nourishing your mind and body for a few hours.

Chocolate is super healthy, if the Mayas drunk it daily, they knew something about its health benefits. Specially, if mixed with other healthy ingredients in your diet or learn how to make smoothie variations. DO not listen to people who say otherwise. If you are in doubt about using chocolate in your diet, read its healthy benefits.
