What is it?

This is a fuyu persimmon.  It is a delicious sweet fruit

Where does it grow?

Persimmons grow on trees.  They are grown in Asian countries, mainly China according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Persimmon Inside

How to eat it?

Fuyu Persimmons should only be eaten when they are ripe. The main reason is to avoid it is its tasting bitter flavor. You can eat the skin or peel them.

There are 6-8 slimy seeds inside, which I don’t recommend eating.

Top 5 Ways to Eat Persimmons

  1. Slice Persimmons and add it to your cereals or top up your oats or whole wheat flakes,
  2. Add chunky slices in your smoothies,
  3. Slice thin slices into your salads,
  4. Bake or roast them
  5. Make Persimmons bread.
